Eric Henson is an American author known for his work in supernatural horror and dark fantasy. His fiction fuses theology, mythology, science, and psychology into layered, unsettling narratives that linger long after the final page.

Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Henson spent much of his life in New England before eventually settling in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a proud member of both the Horror Writers Association and International Thriller Writers.

Henson is dyslexic, a learning disability that can affect reading, writing, and language processing. Rather than limiting him, it has shaped his voice and sharpened his persistence. Through his work and career, he hopes to encourage others facing similar challenges to pursue their ambitions without compromise.

Over the years, Henson has drawn inspiration from a diverse range of authors, many of whom had passed away long before he discovered their work. His literary influences span multiple eras and styles, encompassing the visceral horror of Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft, the psychological darkness of Peter Straub and Ramsey Campbell, and the haunting fiction of Arthur Machen, Robert Bloch, and Erckmann-Chatrian.

The enduring influence of classic writers such as E.F. Benson, Robert Louis Stevenson, and M.R. James is evident in his work, as is the impact of the evocative short fiction of Ambrose Bierce, Guy de Maupassant, and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Henson’s fascination with the supernatural has been shaped by the atmospheric storytelling of Algernon Blackwood, the imaginative vision of Ray Bradbury, and the unsettling realism of Richard Matheson.

He also admires the literary craftsmanship of Simon Clark, James Joyce, and Henry James, while acknowledging the profound influence of Edgar Allan Poe, whose mastery of the macabre continues to inspire generations of writers. Together, these authors have helped shape Henson’s distinctive voice, blending psychological tension, supernatural dread, and literary tradition.

"I entered literary life as a meteor, and I shall leave it like a thunderbolt."
– Guy de Maupassant
